After completing a class project on the 1930’s, and listening to other classmates talk about the decades of fashion past, I decided to bring this knowledge to The Garment Garden! I have always identified most with the 1970’s hippie style so, first I want to dive into the 70’s and talk about some key trends. The first trend I want to discuss is the influence of the wild west style on the 70’s as well as today.
Hi everyone and Happy October!! This week I was challenged to complete a 5 day style diary detailing fashion trends, fashion news, and lifestyle events. First, I’d like to share with you a fashion trend I’ve been spotting on the street and the runways alike – sheer. Anything and everything sheer can be worn on its own with nothing underneath or can be layered to create a more modest look while still following the latest trend.
Look 1 (Vogue)
In the digital age we now live in the exclusivity of the runway experience no longer exists. With live shows broadcast on Facebook or Instagram, and Vogue Runway uploading images of full collections on their website just hours after the show anyone can now take part. However, these shows of the future seem to be referencing only the past.
This past weekend I went on a road trip with my family to Niagara Falls, Ontario, and finally had the chance to try out my new lemon print dress, and let me tell you I am OBSESSED.
