This New York fashion week I looked more for standout outfits than shows, those outfits that I’d die to wear or want to recreate. As fashion gets even more fast paced I looked to five outfits from different designers that I just loved because of the way they were styled, or the material, or just the plain fact that it was a cute outfit. So below in no particular order are my 5 faves from S/S 19, well kind-of, one is actually F/W18.
1. Zimmermann

What I loved about this look was the continuation of the pattern on every piece of the look to make a set. Usually when shopping I see sets that consist of a matching top and jacket, usually a blazer, where a t-shirt of some other top is added in to break up the pattern. I love that this look includes a matching shirt, and even shoes and scarf. But, the way it is broken up is key in pulling the outfit off. If the top was longer or had a higher neck line it wouldn’t have the same effect, the reason I love this outfit is the matching as well as the absence of the pattern in the silhouette.

2. Rodarte

The Rodarte show was pure magic. It wasn’t following a trend or street style it was just dramatic, in a time when fashion seems to be kinda plain in my opinion. Honestly, picking one look was hard, rather the whole vibe of the collection was what I loved. I fell in love with the drama; the intense makeup, floral hair, and loud colors. I chose this look because I’m loving this vibrant purple for spring and I also loved the fact that this is a floral embroidered cape.

3. Ulla Johnson

Ulla Johnson is always a stand out for me every season. I’ll always like any brand with a boho vibe even though thats not always how I dress anymore. But, Ulla is the top of boho style to me with flowing floral dresses and knit hangbags what’s not to love. I chose this look from S/S because I always love a good jumpsuit especially this one with its cute button detail and frill sleeve top underneath.

4. Sandy Liang

Sandy Liang stole my heart with their S/S collection mostly because of its wearability. I can picture each look walking around soho and fitting in with ease. There were countless looks I’d love to own for S/S 19 but this one stood out the most to me. The baby blue color, drawstring hemline, and coral topstitching are all details that drew me to this dress. I found this brand via instagram and this spring collection is more insta gold that is going to be worn by the it girl influencers come spring.

5. Mansur Gavriel

This collection was another of simplicity, minimalism, and very chic – all very common of the brand aesthetic. But this look stood out for F/W18 (they show current season while most brands still show 1 season ahead) because of the way it was styled. I’m loving the look of the oversized sweater with straight leg knit pants, something I want to wear myself this season. I also loved how they paired each of their minimalist looks with a metallic or sequined heel which made them chic and transformed them from a shoe I’d never want to one now on my shopping wants list.
